Mr. Fredrick Fadey Oundo

About Fredrick Fadey Oundo

Fredrick Fadey Oundo is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya of 20 years standing. He hold Masters of Laws degree specializing in Laws, Democracy and Governance and Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Nairobi. He also hold a Postgraduate Diploma from Kenya School of Law.

He is trained and have practical experience in Result Based Management, Performance Management, Proposal Writing & Logical Framework Development, Resource Mobilization, Advocacy Cycle Management, Projects Monitoring and Evaluation, and Policy and Legislative Drafting. He has over 22 years working experience in areas of Governance, Policy research, analysis & advocacy, Citizen Participation/Engagement and Accountability, Devolution and Decentralized Governance, Public Finance Management, Legislative and Constitutional reforms, democratization, Poverty reduction, Access to Justice & Human Rights & community development.

He is a Litigation advocate in the areas of public interest litigation, public finance and budget making processes, administrative law, constitutional law, human rights law, environment and land law, labor law, criminal justice and public participation.

Oundo has over 15 years’ experience in development aid and policies, having worked on varied donor grants including the European Union, the Netherlands Embassy, the United Nations Development Programme (UDP), the Royal Danish Embassy, SIDA Embassy, among others. In addition, He has more than 10 years working experience in program management, specializing in local governance, decentralized funds, democracy, devolution and public finance management.

He is currently a managing partner/founding partner at Oundo Muriuki & Company Advocates. Previously, he worked as a Project Manager/Programme Officer for Diakonia Sweden, an international non-governmental donor organization and Amnesty International. He also have previous working experience with government organizations/Constitutional Commissions, including, Commission on Administrative Justice (Office of the Ombudsman), Committee of Experts on Constitutional Review (CoE), Constitution of Kenya Review Commission (CKRC), National Constitutional Conference (Bomas Conference) and Interim Independent Electoral Boundaries Review Commission (IIEBRC).

He has published a number of research papers, reports, policy briefs, thesis among others, in the areas of democratic governance, human rights, health, education and agriculture.

About Lucas Fondo

Lucas Cosmas Fondo is the Executive Director at TEMA Digital Research (TEMA) Organization.

He is a Governance Human Rights Advocate with a working experience of over 22 years in the field.

He has a passion for public finance, and social accountability, with significant experience in budget training and advocacy, enhancing public participation in governance.

Lucas Cosmas Fondo is an alumni of the International Budget Partnership Kenya Budget facilitators programme having accomplished the training under cohort 1. Of the programme.

He is currently the appointee of the Governor to represent CSOs in the County Budget and Economic Forum (CBEF) for Mombasa County having previously served in the Mombasa County Finance Task Force.

He has previously worked for various renowned Civil Society Organizations including the Local Empowerment for Good Governance (LENGGO) in the capacity of the Executive Director and as a county Coordinator for Mombasa County at the Centre for Law and Research International (CLARION).

About Dr. Fridah Simba

Dr. Fridah Simba is an accomplished academic and strategic management expert. She currently serves as the Founding Director of the JKUAT TVET Institute, Karen Campus, where under her leadership, the institute has attracted over 600 students within a year.

She is also a Senior Lecturer at the JKUAT School of Business and Entrepreneurship, supervising Masters and PhD students in Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship. Previously, Dr. Simba served as the Director of JKUAT Mombasa Campus, growing the student population to over 2,500.

Dr. Simba holds a PhD in Business Administration with a focus on Strategic Management from JKUAT, a Master's in Entrepreneurship, and a Bachelor's in Education from Kenyatta University. She has been recognized in the Top 40 Under 40 Women category in 2023 and awarded the Best Paper by an African Scholar at the IAME conference in 2018.

Beyond academia, she is a senior consultant in strategy, management, and training. She also serves on various boards, including the KJ of TVET Editorial Board and the Human Rights Agenda (HURIA).

Dr. Fridah Simba has been a key contributor to curriculum reviews, faculty retooling, and has served as a visiting faculty in institutions such as Pan African University in Cameroon and National Aviation College in Ethiopia.

About MARIAM KASSIM MOHAED

Mariam Kassim Mohamed is a seasoned Community Development professional based in Mombasa, Kenya, with extensive experience in program management, institutional strengthening, and resilience-building against violent extremism. She has held impactful roles in USAID-funded projects across multiple counties in Kenya, consistently contributing to community and institutional development.

In her recent role with the USAID/Aga Khan Foundation’s Yetu Initiative, she served as an Institutional Strengthening Coach from 2020 to 2023, where she mentored local organizations (LDOs) in Mombasa, Makueni, and Isiolo in capacity building, co-creation, and stakeholder engagement. Her contributions were instrumental in strengthening LDO systems for sustainable development and fostering productive relationships between the public and private sectors. Prior to this, she worked as a Program Officer with USAID’s Strengthening Community Resilience against Violent Extremism (SCORE) initiative from 2016 to 2017, where she managed partnerships across six counties and supported community organizations in countering violent extremism. In the USAID Conflict Mitigation Kenya Tuna Uwezo Program, where she served as Program Officer from 2014 to 2016, Mariam focused on conflict management and capacity building for civil society organizations in regions prone to violence.

Throughout her career, she has achieved significant milestones, including leading the formation of LDOs in Mombasa, enhancing organizational systems in three counties, and strengthening over 200 CSOs’ local resource mobilization capacities, which has enabled them to better address community needs.

Academically, Mariam holds a Master of Arts in Project Planning and Management from the University of Nairobi, earned between 2010 and 2017, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and Social Administration from Kampala International University, completed in 2006. DR RASHID MOHAMMED

About Dr. Rashid Mohammed

Dr. Rashid Mohammed is a highly experienced professional with a distinguished background in both academia and industry. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Communication at Daystar University, Nairobi, with graduation expected in December 2024. His academic journey includes a Master’s in Management and Leadership from the Management University of Africa, completed in 2019, and a Bachelor’s degree in the same field from the same university in 2017.

Dr. Rashid began his educational pursuits with a Diploma in Business Management from the Kenya Institute of Management, Mombasa, and followed this with training in Telecommunication Engineering at the Technical University of Mombasa. His technical foundation was further strengthened by a certificate from the Kenya Power Training School.

With over two decades of experience in telecommunications, Dr. Rashid has held senior management roles, including his current position as Field Operations Manager at Nokia, which he has held since 2000. Prior to Nokia, he held key roles at Airtel, including Regional Manager for the Coast Region and Field Operations Manager for Nairobi Greater. His technical career began as a BSS Technician at Kencel (now Airtel), and earlier at Kenya Power & Lighting Co. Ltd.

Dr. Rashid’s expertise spans technical operations management, leadership, and project coordination, making him instrumental in large-scale telecommunications projects.
